Green B’shvat

molet live January 2018 Molet House, Jaffa, Israel

Some Background? Tu B’shvat is a Jewish holiday occurring on the 15th day of the Hebrew month of Shevat. It is also called “New Year of the Trees”. In contemporary Israel, the day is celebrated as an ecological awareness day, and trees are planted in celebration. Ecological awareness? We’re in.

The Challenge? Make green thinking – fun.

What did we do? The Green B’shvat celebration was all about community, sustainability and good vibes. The event’s visitors were able to enjoy the spontaneous creation of small planters, live music and dried fruits (Tu B’shvat official snack), or join a workshop to create their own high-end recycled wood planter. Everyone was invited to a professional urban greenery talk, packed with loads of tips and information, or browse through stalls of local artists related to the event’s theme. At the end, everyone was greening!
